Protecting and preserving the natural environment - The Sielmann Foundation commemorates its anniversary.
At the once 6,000-hectare training facility in Doberitz, a landscape with great ecological importance has emerged over the past few decades, as per the Sielmann Foundation. In 2004, the foundation purchased around two-thirds of this area to ensure its protection for nature's sake. So far, the foundation has acquired around 13,000 hectares of land across the country for conservation efforts.
Founded on June 2, 1994, by the renowned animal filmmaker Heinz Sielmann and his wife, the organization has made nature conservation its primary aim, as mentioned in the foundation's history. "I chose the positive outcome of my lifelong work in nature as the foundation's objective," Sielmann reportedly stated.
