Case of disappearing individual - The search for Valeriia resumes on Sunday, with no sign of her yet.
No signs of missing 9-year-old Valeriia from Döbeln have been found yet. The search is set to continue on Sunday, according to a spokesperson for the Chemnitz Police Directorate. More officers and staff will be deployed in Döbeln for another day of questioning residents and looking for clues.
With widespread media coverage around Valeriia's disappearance, it's possible that someone recalls a useful detail or sighting. On Friday, a massive operation took place with divers, search dogs, and hundreds of police officers. Drones and a helicopter were also utilized, as well as "Super-Recognizers" who scrutinized countless images and videos. Despite these efforts, still no news about Valeriia's whereabouts.
Valeriia was last seen at 6:50 am on Monday morning when she set off for school. Unfortunately, she was not in her classroom.
The police's inquiry does not focus on one particular scenario. They're looking into everything from abduction to the possibility that Valeriia might have found a hiding place or had an accident. Coming from a Ukrainian background, Valeriia and her mom reside in Germany, while her father is reportedly back in Ukraine.
The girl's father has been contacted by the authorities as well. The police spokesperson assured that the search in Döbeln persists due to their belief that Valeriia is in the area, not overseas.
