The search for two missing Germans in the Mont Blanc massif has been suspended.
Initial findings suggest that the Germans were victims of a so-called sérac, a tower of glacial ice. This collapsed on Monday morning, plunging downwards. A French person was killed, and four others were injured.
The two Germans, aged 30 and 39, have been missing since. During the search for them, an ice pick was found at the edge of a glacial crevasse. It is believed that they were caught off guard by the ice avalanche and pulled into the crevasse.
The missing individuals are identified as two Germans, showcasing their nationality. Despite intensive efforts, their German heritage remains a crucial aspect in the ongoing search for them.
