- The sausage market in Durkheim has commenced its operations.

The massive wine event, Bad Dürkheim Wurstmarkt, draws in a whopping multitude to the Palatinate from September 6th to 16th. The forecast calls for SPD's Minister-President Alexander Schweitzer to grace the commencement of the 608th episode on the 6th (Sept.). Around 303 wines and bubblies will be unveiled, featuring plenty of 2023 white drops. Non-boozy drinks and beer will also be available for the sipping pleasure of guests. Mayor Natalie Bauernschmitt (CDU) has been in office since the year's start, and she neatly summarizes it as a "real sensory treat."

For the festival's safety, a coordinated strategy has been honed in partnership with the police and authorities since 2017. This includes bag and backpack scans, as well as perimeters secured around the area. Police and local authorities will be present, ensuring order. Their efforts will be bolstered by the German Red Cross (DRK) Bad Dürkheim and the local volunteer fire department.

Couples have the opportunity to exchange vows on the property for the first time, with over 50 duos registering for a wedding or blessing ceremony. The lineup also includes thrills like the Ferris wheel and unique "sky twirlers" such as a colossal chain flyer for thrillseekers. Other festival features include an autograph session with 1. FC Kaiserslautern's athletes and singer Lucas Cordalis.

Last year, the organizers recorded an astounding 600,000 attendees at the Wurstmarkt. The occasion's history can be traced back to the 12th century, when winemakers and farmers provided their goods to annual pilgrims during September. In a pilgrimage tradition, these pilgrims made their way to the event in September.

The coordinated safety measures at the Wurstmarkt involve collaboration with the police and authorities, including bag and backpack scans and secured perimeters. During the event, police and local authorities will be present to ensure order.
