Road congestion - The Rehder Bridge in Lübeck will be completely shut down for a period of two weeks.

Lübeck's Reherbrucke is due for full closure from the 17th to the 30th of June, the city announced. This includes all foot traffic and cyclists. To carry out the repairs, new hinge bearings will need to be installed. This requires the bridge to be raised, the old bearings to be removed, and the new ones to be inserted.

The expected completion time for these repairs is around early July, according to the city. At this point, both pedestrian paths and traffic lanes will be reopened, but trucks exceeding twelve tons will still be forbidden from crossing.

In the meantime, buses and taxis traveling towards the city center will be rerouted via Krahenstraße, Straßen An der Mauer, and Hüxterdamm to Hüxtertorallee. For the return trip, the route will run through the Mühlentorbrücke. Bicyclists and pedestrians will also need to take a detour, which is signposted.

The Hanseatic City of Lübeck released this information on the 28th of May.
