Religious building - The Regional Evangelical Church's Synod is established.
The Evangelical Church in Anhalt has a freshly-formed Church Parliament for the upcoming six years. Andreas Köhn has been selected as the honorary president, according to a recent announcement. Köhn, who's 60, is an occupational safety professional based in Dessau and has been part of the Landessynode for a long time. As the new leader, he aims to promote the development of the network system with the newly implemented framework in various church regions and increase the church's visibility in public.
The Synod comprises voluntary as well as paid members, tasked with making decisions on laws, constitutional amendments, and approving the church's budget. Additionally, they determine the work's main focus within the church. The Landessynode is also responsible for selecting a successor for Kirchenpräsident Joachim Liebig, who retired in March. However, so far, they've been unable to pick a suitable candidate.
The Evangelical Church in Anhalt currently consists of approximately 25,000 members.
