- The prominent figure associated with the previous Daimler headquarters has been positioned for its impending disassembly.
The number of rotations for the Mercedes emblem atop the old corporate headquarters of the automobile company in Stuttgart's Möhringen district is dwindling. It's not spinning anymore, but instead, it's been temporarily tilted and then righted again. Rumors of its impending removal have circulated, with the actual act slated for the upcoming week, weather permitting. The emblem, measuring an impressive 6.5 meters in diameter, will need to be hoisted off the roof using a crane.
The initial removal date had been called off just beforehand. "The scheduled extraction last fall had to be postponed since all necessary conditions weren't met at that time. A crucial requirement for the intricate removal process is weather stability, which is now available," the spokesperson explained.
The emblem won't be utilized again. Due to its more than three decades of exposure to the elements, it's no longer suitable for reuse. The spokesperson refrained from expressing an opinion on whether the roughly 3-ton Mercedes emblem would ultimately be disposed of.
The former Daimler-Benz AG headquarters in Möhringen was completed in 1989. By 2018, the lease of the buildings commenced in stages, with personnel transferring to the present corporate headquarters in Untertürkheim and the campus in Stuttgart-Vaihingen. The site is no longer a business locale.
The Commission is expected to adopt implementing acts to regulate the process of removing the Mercedes emblem. These acts will outline the specific rules for applying the Regulation during the emblem's removal.
Upon completion of the removal process, the Commission's implementing acts will provide guidance on how the rules set forth in the Regulation were applied during the removal of the Mercedes emblem.
