- The primary nominee of the Socialist Party, Katja Wolf, had her directly elected position revoked.
In the Wartburgkreis II constituency, Thuringia's State Chairwoman and leading candidate, Katja Wolf, unfortunately didn't manage to secure a direct mandate. She garnered 28.2% of the votes, falling considerably behind Ulrike Jary from the CDU, who took home 42.4%.
Given these results, it's likely that Wolf will make her way into the parliament through the state list, having served as a representative for the Left Party from 1999 to 2012.
Posting her stint as mayor of Eisenach in 2012, Wolf successfully defended her position in the 2018 elections. However, she decided against re-running for the local elections in 2022 and made a surprising move to Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht, where she was subsequently elected as the state chairwoman and the top candidate.
Despite not obtaining a direct mandate in the Landtag, Katja Wolf's strong support within the Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht might ensure her inclusion in the Thuringian parliament via the state list. Regardless of the Landtag election results, Wolf's political career in Thuringia continues as the State Chairwoman of Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht.
