- The police face a challenge when a goat escapes
A police patrol in Jena found themselves acting as goat catchers. The goat was on a private property, but seemingly not its own. The property's resident couldn't explain who the animal belonged to or where its pen was, so she called the police for help. The patrol spent about an hour and a half trying to catch the goat, which repeatedly outsmarted the officers. Eventually, they succeeded. The goat was taken to an animal shelter to determine its owner.
The animal shelter might also need help identifying the goat's owner, as they usually have procedures for stray cattle as well. After being fed and given a comfortable rest at the shelter, the goat seemed less interested in escaping.
