Magdeburg: New Developments in a Housing Complex - "The Phantom of the Opera" returns with the musical "Love Never Dies"
"The Phantom of the Opera" is one of the world's most famous musicals, and now its sequel "Love Never Dies" by Andrew Lloyd Webber will be performed in front of the Magdeburg Cathedral from this Friday. This is a significant event as it's the first time the City Theater Magdeburg has been granted the right to perform an internationally successful musical.
It's not just a regular performance for the City Theater Magdeburg; this musical is their first to be sold out before the premiere or have its tickets reserved. A total of 22,932 tickets were available for the 18 performances from now until July 7.
"The Phantom of the Opera" is set in New York City, ten years after the Phantom's fateful encounter with Christine in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House. During that time, the Phantom has started operating a pleasure park on Coney Island, where operatic soprano Christine has been asked to perform. As they come across each other unexpectedly, "repressed feelings resurface, and old conflicts reignite" - creating an exciting and unforgettable experience for viewers, beautifully captured in Andrew Lloyd Webber's masterful score, which seamlessly blends passionate ballads, elegant Vaudeville numbers, and upbeat pop songs.
