The number of unemployed people in Lower Saxony increased by 13,127 to 270,255 in July compared to June. The unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage points to six percent, the Federal Employment Agency reported. The agency attributed this to the seasonal increase in July, when young people temporarily register as unemployed after completing their training. Compared to the same period last year, the number of unemployed people increased by 14,316, and the rate was then 5.8 percent.

In response to the rise in unemployment, the government in Lower Saxony is considering strengthening its policies related to ['Employment and social security']. Despite the seasonal increase in July, the long-term trend of unemployment in Lower Saxony remains concerning, necessitating continuous efforts in ['Employment and social security] policies.
