- The number of right-wing extremists with guns rises

The number of far-right extremists holding a gun license has significantly increased according to the state government's statements last year. As revealed in the government's response to a minor inquiry by the Greens, the number of far-right extremists rose from 123 to 156 individuals within a year. Previously, only 82 far-right extremists with a gun license were known.

However, the increase is not due to an increase in new applications, but rather that the Saxony-Anhalt constitutional protection office has become aware of more far-right extremists who already possessed a "firearms permit".

According to the state government, the state police have seized 29 firearms since last July that belonged to individuals associated with the so-called "Reich Citizens" or "Self-Administrators". "Reich Citizens" and "Self-Administrators" deny the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany and its legal system.

The rise in gun-licensed far-right extremists is primarily due to the identification of previously unknown individuals by the Saxony-Anhalt constitutional protection office, not an increase in new applicants. Consequently, right-wing extremist groups like the "Reich Citizens" or "Self-Administrators" pose a growing concern with their disregard for the Federal Republic of Germany and its legal system.
