- The media: transfer from BVB-Jungstar Brunner to Monaco perfect
Borussia Dortmund and Paris Brunner are reportedly going their separate ways. According to media reports, the U17 World Cup winner is set to join French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. The transfer fee for the 18-year-old striker is said to be €4 million. According to information from Sky and the "Ruhr Nachrichten", the football Bundesliga club managed to secure a future sell-on clause in the negotiations.
This marks the end of the months-long negotiation marathon. The striker, who was contracted to the BVB until 2025, had been presented with a contract renewal offer from Dortmund for months. However, an agreement could not be reached as Brunner had reservations about the sporting prospects presented to him. He was seeking a guaranteed place in the professional squad, which the BVB could not firmly promise.
Brunner, who was named the best player of the tournament at the recent U17 World Cup, also made headlines off the pitch. He was temporarily suspended by the BVB in October 2023 for disciplinary reasons.
Paris Brunner has officially departed Borussia Dortmund to join AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1. Despite an offer for contract renewal until 2025 from Dortmund, Brunner sought a guaranteed spot in the professional squad, which Dortmund was unable to provide.
