There was a conflict between the AfD group in the state legislature and the state administration regarding data related to the Verfassungsschutz's activities. The Constitutional Court made a decision on this matter on November 20th. Following a verbal discussion about the issue.

Members from the AfD group initiated a lawsuit due to their discontentment with the state administration's responses to their parliamentary inquiry from the previous year. The inquiry concerned claims that the Verfassungsschutz was utilizing false profiles in chat groups and social networks while investigating politically motivated crimes.

The state administration declined to answer the inquiries, justifying it by referring to the confidentiality clauses associated with Verfassungsschutz operations at that point in time. The AfD group Asserted that this infringed upon their right to obtain information.

The AfD group believed their rights were violated when the state administration failed to respond fully to their parliamentary inquiry, as they believed it pertained to state government oversight of the Verfassungsschutz. Subsequently, the state government found itself embroiled in a legal battle with the AfD group over this matter.
