Authorities are probing into the matter. - The identity of the driver involved in the fatal accident near Ku'damm is yet to be determined.
Originally, the cops questioned X about a man behind the wheel. On Wednesday afternoon, it was discovered the vehicle was on Tauentzienstrasse close to Ku'damm around 1:45 p.m. The car had lost control, swung left, and collided with a solid concrete barrier divided the roads. The vehicle then spun 180 degrees and burst into flames. The fire was put out by bystanders.
Two emergency personnel experienced carbon monoxide fumes and were transported to the hospital. Based on the fire department's report at location X, an inmate was severely hurt while trying to flee the ablaze car. Two victims were extracted from the wreckage. Five other first responders received minor injuries and were tended to on the spot. The crash site is in a prime location in the western section of Berlin's downtown area near the luxury retail store KaDeWe and the War Memorial Church. Race car drivers are notorious nuisances in that area and throughout Berlin.
