scarcely does the term 'legendary' align more perfectly than with supposedly the most renowned headgear in cinematic history. The hat of partial academic Indiana Jones transitions to a new possessor.

Dangdangdang, dangdang. Dangdangdang, dangdangdangdangdang. What about it? Is that catchy enough for you? If not, imagine this: a lush, verdant jungle, a chatterbox Vietnamese kid wearing a cap, and a seasoned, charmingly devilish part-time educator with a whip and a fedora. That's right, Indiana Jones **we're talking about!

Now, speaking of fedoras. There are some valuables that are priceless. Indiana Jones's most iconic archaeologist's hat in film history, however, isn't one of them. At least, not for high rollers. The legendary headpiece, adorned by actor Harrison Ford in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", recently sold for a significant sum.

Indiana Jones's Hat Once Belonged to Deceased Stunt Double

The chocolate-brown felt fedora made a whopping $630,000 at an auction in LA on Thursday. Translated into Euros, it amounts to approximately €570,000 - more than double what a similar hat fetched three years ago.

The fedora boasted soft rabbit fur and was crafted by the esteemed Herbert Johnson Hat Company in London. The interior bore a golden monogram bearing the initials "IJ". The hat from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" had a different crown shape, the auction house Propstore explained. Interestingly, in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", this hat had a more pointed crown.

Indiana Jones's stunt double, Dean Ferrandini, sported the hat in numerous scenes from the 1984 classic. Ferrandini passed away last year, and the hat was part of his personal collection. The sale included previously unpublished photographs of the stuntman on set.

More Notable Film Memorabilia Goes Under the Hammer

According to news reports, props from equally famous series were also auctioned off. These items included the helmet of an imperial scout trooper from "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" ($315,000), a gleaming wand from "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" ($53,550), and a tuxedo worn by Daniel Craig in "Skyfall" ($35,000).

The famous chocolate-brown fedora, sold at an auction in Los Angeles, was worn by Indiana Jones's stunt double, Dean Ferrandini, in numerous scenes from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." After his passing, the hat became a part of Ferrandini's personal collection.

The significant sum of $630,000 paid for Indiana Jones's iconic fedora at the LA auction is roughly equivalent to €570,000, approximately doubling the price of a similar hat sold three years prior.
