Aftermath of Conflict - The hunt for explosive devices in Planten un Blomen park goes on.

The hunt for potential hazards leftover from World War II in Hamburg's iconic Planten un Blomen Park is ongoing. "We've identified two suspicious areas that need to be further investigated through excavations," Elsa Scholz, spokesperson for the Bezirksamt Mitte, informed dpa on Friday. The contracted firm consulting the district administration has coordinated a schedule with the Clearance Service for Explosives to be ready and standing by if required.

Upon analyzing aerial images, the Explosives Clearance Service identified the potential hazardous areas. Since Monday, officials have been conducting probe drills in the vicinity of the Rosengarten and the Parksee. Despite the ongoing work, the park remains accessible to visitors; consequently, the daily water shows and nightly light concerts on the Parksee continue as planned.
