Voting Processes - The House of Representatives urges involvement in European polls.

The parliament of Berlin is urging citizens to participate in the European elections on Sunday. This action, as stated in a resolution passed by the state legislature with the support of the black-red coalition on Thursday, would boost the strength of democratic institutions in the European Union (EU).

The resolution also conveys worry about the growth of authoritarian and anti-EU movements in the EU, which are fueled by the misinformation of citizens. As a result, it is crucial for people to be aware of the means of misinformation and to seek out trustworthy sources of information.

Furthermore, the resolution reinforces Berlin's strong belief in the European Union as a union of coexistence on the European continent. The parliament commits itself to upholding principles of peace, understanding, democracy, and the rule of law as it moves forward, and to promote them among the people of Berlin.

The CDU and SPD parties cast their votes in support of the resolution, while the AfD faction voted against it. The Green and Left parties abstained: Both factions had presented their own drafts, which were rejected by the CDU, SPD, and AfD.
