German League - The head of women's soccer demands improved facilities at Wolfsburg.

Alexandra Popp, from VfL Wolfsburg, voiced a concern regarding the need for better conditions for the women's team, following their DFB Cup win. "I can verify several things, one by one. We possess outstanding training facilities. However, we still require additional opportunities compared to the international teams we face," stated Ralf Kellermann, the Director of Women's Football at the vice-champion, during a press briefing on Thursday.

Recently, Popp, the German women's team captain, also shared her thoughts in an interview with the "Wolfsburger Allgemeine" paper, noting, "Both Volkswagen and the VfL need to understand that what we have now will become insufficient at some point." The Wolfsburg team fell short again in the Bundesliga and failed to reach the Champions League quarter-finals last season.

Kellermann confirmed that they are having discussions with the club. Some amenities such as cabins, meeting rooms, and weight rooms are "adequate, yet they could be larger and more advanced." Moreover, the team doesn't have the option to train in peace or eat meals together on-site. "We don't need extravagant additions with golden water fountains here. It needs to be functional," Kellermann stressed. "We must advance in multiple, if not all, aspects to remain competitive."

Coach Tommy Stroot, who ends his contract at Wolfsburg after the current season, believes that professional conditions are essential for attracting international players: "If we aim to sign top-tier talents and other esteemed players, then this is crucial."
