It seems like RB Leipzig is about to beef up their central midfield, hailing from the lands of Spain. As per transfer insider Fabrizio Romano and broadcast station Sky, Leipzig are on the brink of securing the signature of Belgian Arthur Vermeeren from Atlético Madrid. Reports suggest that the young talent has opted for Leipzig over other opportunities.

The exact terms of the deal, whether it's a permanent transfer or a loan, remain uncertain. Initially, a loan arrangement seemed likely, but recent Spanish updates indicate that Atlético Madrid would not object to a sale of the Euro participant either.

Leipzig finds itself compelled to make a move due to the prolonged unavailability of Xaver Schlager. The Austrian is still in the recovery phase after suffering a cruciate ligament injury and isn't expected to return to the field before at least December. Following Leipzig's 1-0 Bundesliga season opener against Bochum, sporting director Rouven Schröder had mentioned that the new addition should be young and capable of providing immediate as well as medium-term assistance.

The midfield reinforcement RB Leipzig is pursuing is Ari Vermeeren, who hails from Atlético Madrid. With Xaver Schlager still recovering from his cruciate ligament injury, Leipzig needs a player like Vermeeren, who can provide immediate and medium-term assistance.
