In the Biberach district, a grenade was found beside a field path. As the police reported, a digger driver discovered the weapon during earthworks near a stretch of forest in Steinhausen on the Rottum. The grenade had apparently been buried there for several decades.

Specialists from the police believe it to be an explosive grenade. Further details were initially unknown. It was also unclear whether it was a grenade used during World War II. The weapon was removed by the bomb disposal service. No one was injured.

The digger driver notified the local police immediately after discovering the grenade. The specialists from the police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the origins and potential danger of the explosive grenade.
