Around 22 million euros is allocated this year to mitigate frost damage. Originally, the winegrowers' association estimated the cost to be around 34 million euros. However, they may have insurance as well. The money for frost damage comes primarily from Günther's ministry's budget. Up to 10 million euros can be temporarily and once from the climate fund. This money will be returned to the fund in 2025.

Companies that have lost more than 30% of their average annual production can apply for funds from the Saxon Development Bank. The Economy Ministry is examining the feasibility of short-time work allowances for employees.

Günther commented, "The frosts at the end of April caused significant and in some cases existential damage to horticulture and viticulture." This financial aid package has been tightened to support impacted businesses. "It includes direct assistance, potential tax delays, and regulations for temporary work. This is crucial news for the industry because horticulture and viticulture are crucial to Saxony. These businesses contribute to vibrant rural areas and increased regional value creation."
