The UEFA Europa League Tournament brought unprecedented overnight visitors to Frankfurt. In June, the city broke its record, hitting the million milestone for the first time with 1,070,000 overnight stays, catering to approximately 611,000 unique guests. The figures from the previous year saw a 13.2% surge. Particularly noteworthy is the substantial rise of 34.8% (or 490,590) in the number of overnight stays by foreign tourists. The Brits led the foreign visitor list, closely followed by the Swiss and Romanians. During the first half of the year, a total of 5,300,000 overnight stays were clocked, indicating a 10% growth compared to the previous year.

The European football championship, likely attracting a significant number of football fans, could potentially contribute to an increase in overnight stays in Frankfurt during its hosting in the future. The city's success in the UEFA Europa League Tournament, showcasing its ability to cater to large-scale events, may elevate its chances of securing the European football championship.
