- The footage is anticipated to guide investigators towards the ex-RAF personnel.
The Lower Saxony Criminal Police Office (LKA) is set to unveil fresh video clips of ex-RAF terrorist Burkhard Garweg on Wednesday. One clip allegedly originates from Berlin, while the other hails from Hildesheim. Since 2015, the prosecution in Verden has been probing Daniela Klette, Ernst-Volker Staub, and Burkhard Garweg for attempted murder and completed severe robbery in various incidents. They are believed to have pilfered cash from money transporters and supermarkets in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia to maintain their clandestine existence.
Klette was apprehended in the closing days of February 2023, in Berlin-Kreuzberg, where she had been living under an alias. This trio was part of the so-called third wave of the radical-leftist Red Army Faction (RAF). In 1998, the RAF, responsible for over 30 deaths, officially disbanded.
There have been numerous cases of individuals falsely identified as Garweg or Staub.
In recent times, several individuals who were mistakenly believed to be Garweg or Staub have been scrutinized. The German Federal Criminal Police Office is still on the hunt for Garweg, among others, with a picture of him with two dogs, discovered in Klette's apartment. The investigators were almost on Garweg's trail before his arrest. Shortly following Klette's detention, they seized the RV in Berlin-Friedrichshain, where Garweg had been reportedly residing under the alias Martin.
The LKA's investigation into Daniela Klette, Burkhard Garweg, and Ernst-Volker Staub's activities led them to Berlin-Friedrichshain, a place where Garweg was allegedly living under the alias Martin. Garweg is also known to have ties with The Hanover, as evidence was found in his apartment there.
