Severe weather conditions approaching: brace for storms. - The flooding condition in Meckenbeuren remains precarious.

Last Friday night, around 1,300 residents of the community were urged to evacuate their homes. Many of them chose to stay with relatives or friends. Just a handful used emergency shelters. Before the prospect of floods could cause any harm, schools, kindergartens, and halls had been emptied out earlier. The municipality, home to 14,000 people, also closed all bridges as a safety measure.
