In the past two decades, the leaders of the annual Mud Games along the Elbe dike in Brunsbüttel have amassed a substantial sum for charitable purposes. It's time for one final filthy showdown with the slogan "Raucous Play for a Pristine Purpose," as they dive back into the muck with glee and entertain the crowds. So far, an impressive €600,000 has been contributed to cancer-related projects.

At the Mud Soccer tournament or the mudslide contest in knee-deep muck, contenders can get as grubby as they please. Michael Behrendt, president of the Mud Games association, stated last autumn, "We've had an incredible 20 years filled with success and joy." "However, age catches up with us all, and we've decided that our 20-year anniversary is the perfect moment to call it quits."
