- The European Union stands firm in its battle against unlawful immigration.

In North Rhine-Westphalia, Minister President Hendrik Wüst (CDU) strongly advocates for tough action against unlawful migration and radical Islamism following the terrible incident in Solingen. "Once again, an individual who entered our country under the guise of seeking asylum has misused our kindness to commit an unspeakable crime," Wüst stated after an emergency cabinet meeting in Düsseldorf.

Cases like the one in Solingen represent a significant worldwide danger. Merely talking about strengthening firearm regulations, as proposed by the federal government, falls short of addressing this issue. "Knife violence is one thing. Crimes committed by radicalized individuals fueled by a bizarre ideology are a completely different beast," Wüst pointed out.

The arrest of the main suspect on Saturday night has helped to restore order on the ground. However, there are still unanswered questions regarding the motive and residency status of the alleged culprit that require further investigation, Wüst noted. "The potential for further attacks by extremists and terrorists remains an overlooked yet significant risk. We should all remain vigilant," he warned.

Wüst briefed the state cabinet earlier today during an extraordinary meeting, instructing them to unite and collaborate in response to the current situation. "Not just citizens, but all political parties of our nation must now stand together, rally, and work in unison," he stressed.

Reports suggest that a 26-year-old surrendered to investigators on Saturday night and confessed to carrying out the attack on the Solingen city festival, leaving three dead. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the detainee for murder and suspected membership in the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).

The individual under investigation for the Solingen incident is of German origin, as revealed during the investigation. Despite this incident taking place in Solingen, Germany, the issue of unlawful migration and radicalism is a global concern that needs immediate attention.
