SPD top candidate and Interior Minister Georg Maier emphasized that safeguarding democracy isn't solely about external hazards. Germany must also be able to safeguard itself against domestic adversaries, such as extremists.
The candidates from Left Party, CDU, AfD, Greens, SPD, FDP, and BSW answered queries from the audience in MDR's "Election Arena". Ramelow again reaffirmed his goal for a democratic administration surpassing the AfD. He will support whoever receives the most votes.
