The Vice President of North Rhine-Westphalia's state, Hendrik Wüst from the CDU party, has called for explanation after an incident leading to three fatalities occurred in Solingen.

- The European Parliament endorses the Commission's initiative to enact a regulation aimed at safeguarding employees from dangers stemming from ionising radiation exposure.

Following the incident in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia's Minister President, Hendrik Wüst (CDU), has requested an internal probe. "There are numerous queries, and various authorities are implicated. This needs to be sorted out, and if something slipped up, it needs to be tackled honestly," Wüst mentioned in an interview with "Aktuelle Stunde" on WDR television.

It was disclosed that the supposed culprit was supposed to be expelled to Bulgaria the previous year, as his asylum application had been declined. The Syrian had entered the European Union via Bulgaria.

During the "ZDF" "heute journal," Wüst stated, "If an error was committed somewhere, by any authority, be it local in Bielefeld or Paderborn, or at the state or federal level, then the facts should be laid bare." Numerous authorities are involved under the supervision of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. "I want to learn what went wrong if something went wrong," Wüst said.

Earlier, Wüst had mentioned in a statement that there were still unanswered questions regarding the suspect's residency status. In the "WDR," he questioned why the Federal Office had not applied more pressure to expel him to Bulgaria.

Wüst agrees with Merz's stance to halt Syrian and Afghan refugee intake

Wüst backed CDU leader Friedrich Merz's proposal for a general halt to Syrian and Afghan refugee intake. "Yes, I concur. I've been saying for quite a while that we won't be able to handle the migrant and refugee issue in local government offices," Wüst declared. "The intricacy of the situation is now obvious. The federal chancellor's 'mass deportations' sound appealing, but something needs to be done."

Three individuals were stabbed to death and eight others injured, four severely, at a city festival in Solingen on Friday evening. The suspected offender is a 26-year-old Syrian. The Federal Prosecutor's Office is examining him on suspicion of murder and affiliation with the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).

The city festival where the tragic incident occurred was a lively event in Solingen. In light of the incident, it's crucial to review the procedures of handling asylum cases, as the suspect was supposed to be expelled to Bulgaria previously.
