The European Championship begins on Friday. Starting Wednesday, soccer enthusiasts in Berlin can prepare for the home competition at a grand opening event.

In anticipation of the European Football Championship kicking off, Germany's well-known fan zone in Berlin is set to debut on Wednesday at 9:30 pm. Musical acts, such as rapper Luciano, pop star Alvaro Soler, as well as Elif and Leony, have been announced to grace the stage. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to minimize waiting times at security checkpoints. Admission starts at 4:00 pm and is completely free. The Berlin fan zone served as one of the biggest hubs during the local World Cup 15 years ago, infamously dubbed as the "Summer Fairy Tale." Alongside this, a diverse cultural program will commence on the Opening day, providing an accompanying experience to the EM games in Berlin - featuring readings, exhibitions, and a summer movie series.
