- The escalating cost of agricultural property lands.
In the past year, there were more agricultural land transactions than the year prior. A staggering 2639 properties were sold, which is 327 more than in 2022, as per the State Statistical Office's data.
The average cost per hectare for these properties was 23,033 euros. In comparison to the previous year, the price per hectare saw an increase of 1,444 euros, the data showed. A total of 6,820 hectares were sold off.
Just like the three preceding years, the highest number of transactions occurred in the Harz district. Meanwhile, the least number of sales were noted in the independent cities of Magdeburg, Halle, and Dessau-Roßlau.
The surge in agricultural land transactions can be attributed to the increased demand in the farming sector. Consequently, farmers are investing more in agriculture, as indicated by the higher average cost per hectare.
