Tourism - The eleven-year-old Greta is a kindergarten director at the Baltic Sea
Greta is recognized by her orange-colored shirt, friendly smile, and the fact that she mainly speaks with a certain group of people - children. The 11-year-old is the children's director at the Baltic Sea in Karlshagen on Usedom, and she advocates for the well-being of holiday children in Karlshagen.
Since 2013, Karlshagen has been the only place on the German Baltic Coast with a children's director. Greta is now the fifth person in office. "Often only the opinion of adults is asked, but it's also important what children think about certain things," she explained. That's why it's important not only to dance at children's discos but also to talk to holiday children and ask them about their opinion on the holiday resort.
Together with the adult children's director Katrin Jaddatz, they regularly open events on stage or award prizes at award ceremonies. "The children's director should help us see Karlshagen through children's eyes and recognize and understand their wishes above all," Jaddatz explained.
According to the given information, there are 3,200 inhabitants in Karlshagen. Approximately 75,000 tourists are there annually. The Baltic Sea resort wants to position itself particularly child- and family-friendly.
