- The East Derby between Dresden and Cottbus

For the first time in eight years, this Friday (7:00 PM/ MagentaSport) will see the SG Dynamo Dresden and FC Energie Cottbus face off in a tense East-German derby. The match in Dresden's Rudolf Harbig Stadium is sold out, with 32,000 spectators expected. Due to the rival fans of both clubs, the game will be played under heightened security measures.

Hosts Dynamo kicked off their 3rd Bundesliga campaign with a 2:1 win against FC Viktoria Köln. Meanwhile, the guests from Lusatia lost 1:2 in their opener. Additionally, coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz was sent off against Arminia Bielefeld and will therefore serve an internal ban for the derby.

The SG Dynamo Dresden's victory against FC Viktoria Köln in their first match of the Bundesliga season adds extra fuel to their upcoming derby against FC Energie Cottbus. Regardless of their previous loss, the supporters of FC Energie Cottbus are eager to show their spirit at the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
