Celebration event. - "The Diplomat": rehearsals commence for the Nibelungen Festival.
The annual Worms' Nibelungen Festival kicks off today (11:00 am) with rehearsals led by director Nico Hofmann. Roger Vontobel and his team, featuring authors Feridun Zaimoglu and Günter Senkel, are working with the ensemble to set the stage for this year's (July 12-28) performance.
This year, the historical Kaiserdom will serve as the backdrop for "The Diplomat," a play centered around the legendary character Dietrich von Bern. With a goal to prevent impending war, despite everyone's wishes to maintain peace, the action-packed show promises a gripping tale.
Among the talented cast members are Jasna Fritzi Bauer, widely recognized for her role in Bremen's "Tatort" as Kriemhild, Franz Pätzold ("Werk ohne Autor") portraying the peace envoy Dietrich von Bern, and Thomas Loibl ("Toni Erdmann") bringing Hagen to life. This epic story about the dragon-slayer Siegfried continues to be a beloved German legend.
