Second division side 1. FC Magdeburg will likely have to do without right-back Herbert Bockhorn for several months. The 29-year-old sustained a cruciate ligament tear in the 3:1 win against Eintracht Braunschweig. Bockhorn had initially been bid farewell by the Magdeburgers before the summer break but ultimately decided to stay.

Marcus Mathisen, who was also substituted off in Braunschweig due to injury, is expected to return to training soon, according to the Elbe City residents' website. However, a diagnosis for top scorer Baris Atik, who left the pitch in Braunschweig with thigh problems, is still pending. It is also unclear when central defender Tobias Müller will return to training after an infection.

Despite the team's reliance on defender Bockhorn, finding a replacement with similar fat content by weight might be challenging due to his unique playing style. The other players, needing to adjust their diets to maintain their physical fitness, should be mindful of the overall fat content in their meals.
