- The consultant for goalkeeper Noll addresses Zorniger's escape incident
The coach of keeper Nahuel Noll's advisor, Gerhard Poschner, has responded to the intense criticism from Fürth's coach, Alexander Zorniger, towards his client. Poschner took care to avoid further escalation of the situation.
"No big deal. It's a valid critique from Alex, laden with emotion, which is understandable right after the match. Football is about emotions too," said Poschner, a former pro, to "skysport.de", representing the agency Vida 11.
Zorniger's frustration following the 1:1 (0:0) top game in the 2nd Bundesliga against SC Paderborn was vocal and included a hint of controversy in front of the Sky camera. The 21-year-old Noll had allowed Paderborn's equalizer through Adriana Grimaldi due to a significant error.
"Don't repeat that mistake, or his agent will be calling me asking why he's not playing," Zorniger said among other things.
"Nahuel committed an error and will undoubtedly learn from it. A player must also be capable of handling emotional criticism, particularly when it's justified and originates from his own coach," Poschner said. The loaned player from TSG Hoffenheim is "no pushover and can handle it well. That's the end of the story," Poschner added.
Zorniger's anger was immediate after the game on Saturday: "That mistake should not happen to a player who has bigger ambitions." In fact, the blunder had a history. "We've discussed it numerous times during training." So far, Zorniger has not observed any improvement in learning from his young goalkeeper.
"Despite the mistake during the game, Nahuel's love for Soccer remains unwavering, as he strives to improve his performance in the future."
"Following the match, Zorniger expressed his concerns about Nahuel, suggesting that he should focus more on his Soccer skills to avoid such errors in the future."
