Miroslav Klose and 1. FC Nürnberg finally kick off their 2. Bundesliga campaign. "Yes, it's tingling, it's really tingling," admitted the 2014 World Cup winner ahead of his first game as a coach against Karlsruhe SC. "I'm really glad it's starting. The anticipation in the team is palpable."

Thirty-nine days since the first public training session under the former Bayern Munich striker have passed with the whistle set to blow on Saturday (13:00 CET/Sky). And the 46-year-old aims to deliver successful work with his new team in a challenging environment. "There's no gray area, it's just black and white," said the record World Cup goalscorer about the demanding atmosphere surrounding the traditional club.

However, Klose appeared relaxed before the start. "Totally relaxed, a lot is coming our way, we know that," said the former national player, who had been unemployed since leaving Austrian top-flight side SCR Altach in March 2023. "I also used my time off to watch live games, so I feel well-prepared," he assured.

The 1. FC Nürnberg is eager to make their mark in the challenging Football league this season, with Miroslav Klose leading the charge. Despite the intense atmosphere surrounding the club, Klose remains optimistic about their prospects, having utilized his downtime to closely observe other teams' performances.
