- The cinematic extravaganza commences this week.

"Sunrise - An American Odyssey" serves as Costner's initial directorial endeavor in two decades. The 69-year-old's movie is planned as a four-part Western epic. The inaugural, three-hour segment commences its run in German cinemas. "Sunrise" is set in 1861 in New Mexico. The narrative revolves around white Americans settling in Apache territories, resisting the encroachment. Beside Costner, Sienna Miller and Sam Worthington also feature. Costner's inaugural Western as a director, "Dances with Wolves" from 1990, bagged seven Oscars. His previous Western prior to "Sunrise" was "Open Range" in 2003. Lately, Costner has garnered notable roles in the critically acclaimed Western series "Yellowstone" by Taylor Sheridan.

"Outlaws of the Galaxies" featuring Cate Blanchett**

"Outlaws of the Galaxies" encapsulates the film adaptation of a video game series. Cate Blanchett and Jamie Lee Curtis are among the main cast. Blanchett embodies Lilith, who "reluctantly returns to her home planet Pandora" as the film's announcement states. "Missioned with finding the daughter of the powerful Atlas (Edgar Ramírez), the notorious and enigmatic bounty hunter assembles an eclectic group of misfits." Cinemagoers can anticipate a "cosmic rollercoaster of action entertainment."

Humor with a Twist: "Goodbye My Darling - French Divorce"

Alain continues to harbor feelings for Diane after thirty years of marriage. Upon their last child leaving home, he anticipates a blissful and harmonious life as a couple. However, while he envisions a romantic existence, his wife succumbs into a deep depression. She loses all zest for life, fears the emptiness at home, and yearns to escape the marriage. The children are gone – what's next? This predicament sends Diane (Karin Viard) into an existential tailspin.

Quirky Comedy: "Micha's Vision"

One man, one vision: Micha (Charly Hübner) vows to revitalize his hometown in Saxony-Anhalt. However, the task proves more daunting than he expects. Human folly erects numerous barriers in his path. The directorial duo of Lars Jessen and Jan Georg Schütte reflects contemporary societal shifts like the alarming climate crisis and widespread political malaise with biting humor. Unusually, the ensemble led by Charly Hübner ad-libbed substantial portions of the script, resulting in a comedy teeming with satirical edge.

The Oscars recognized Costner's inaugural Western as a director, "Dances with Wolves," with seven awards in 1990. After the success of "Dances with Wolves," viewers are eagerly anticipating another award-winning performance from Costner, as he is set to direct "The Oscars"-winning actress Cate Blanchett in "Outlaws of the Galaxies."
