The Christmas-themed train service is returning to Berlin, and for many in the city, it's a true celebration. Now, residents and visitors can ride the Christmas city train decorated in festive style.

The Berlin-based company Weihnachtszüge, which was taken off the tracks for 15 years due to lack of funds by the local transport association, has returned.

Starting from December 2nd, locals and guests of the German city can take a ride on the Christmas route during the remaining Advent weekends.

Passengers can board one of the vintage S-Bahn trains from the 1920s and 1930s in Grünau.

  • Two departures are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, one at 13:10 and the other at 15:50.
  • Tickets are priced at 21 euros for adults and 7 euros for children.

The festive journey takes passengers through Neukölln and Südkreuz, then heads west to Charlottenburg, before returning to Grünau. It's worth noting that disembarking from the holiday express is challenging at unauthorized stops. Disembarkation is only permitted in Grünau.

Since the trip around Berlin will be lengthy, passengers can have lunch on board, but only a Christmas menu will be available. The main dishes will be Glühwein and Stollen. It sounds tempting, but there's a catch—there are no toilets on the train.

Therefore, it's advisable to eat in moderation to avoid an uncomfortable situation. Otherwise, it's an excellent way to spend time and soak up the holiday spirit. The journey promises to be captivating and interesting.

Tickets for additional trips on December 16th and 23rd are still available. However, it's essential to keep a close eye on their availability, as they are selling like hotcakes. So, those eager to embark on a Christmas journey should ensure to purchase tickets in advance.

This revitalized tourist attraction, the vintage railway, is sure to draw crowds, offering a unique Christmas experience in Berlin. Visitors can now hop aboard the festive S-Bahn trains during the holiday season.

Tourism in Berlin will be buzzing with excitement as the Christmas city railway becomes a popular destination, offering a captivating journey through the city's renowned landmarks.
