Undergoing technological updates and conducting an examination, the Rügen Bridge will be temporarily inaccessible for numerous hours on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

- The bridge is currently undergoing inspection, with traffic being prohibited.

Starting from today, the Rügen Bridge is off limits. Between 9 AM and 3 PM, drivers heading to or departing from the island need to utilize the parallel Rügen Dam instead.

As per the Road Construction Authority's reports, a mandatory six-year inspection for all German bridges is underway, which includes the Rügen Bridge. A specialized truck, capable of hoisting a 12-meter long platform directly beneath the bridge from the roadway, will be utilized during this process. Furthermore, the Authority has mentioned that outdated cameras and network technology will be replaced on the Rügen Bridge.

In line with the bridge closure, B96 maintenance and repairs on Rügen will be conducted until Samtens. Drivers can opt for the parallel L296 as an alternative. Similarly, maintenance will be conducted on the B96 stretch from Samtens to the Bergen roundabout on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, with the same hours of operation, 9 AM to 3 PM.

Due to the bridge inspection, construction works on the Rügen Bridge will be carried out, leading to its temporary closure. During this period, drivers are advised to use the Rügen Dam as an alternative route for accessing or leaving the island.
