Drivers in Lower Saxony should brace themselves for increased speed checks until the weekend. According to the ADAC, from today until Sunday, particular focus will be on accident-prone stretches and areas with heightened risk, such as schools. Today marks the start of the new school year in four federal states, including Lower Saxony and Bremen.

Police will also pay attention to distractions on the road or technical defects in vehicles. Bremen will not participate in the nationwide action due to "organizational reasons," as the police announced. Instead, they will carry out targeted checks within the city to enhance traffic safety as usual.

There will not be a specific speed camera day, according to the ADAC. The checks will be spread out evenly throughout the week. The goal of the control week is to raise awareness among all road users about the dangers of traffic.

Drivers in Bremen should still be mindful of traffic rules despite not participating in the nationwide speed check action. The local police in Bremen will conduct targeted checks within the city to maintain traffic safety as usual.
