Drink crates on the highway cause delays before the Elbtunnel. A truck loaded with the crates had previously spun out on the A7 heading north, just before the Waltershof interchange, losing its load, according to a spokesperson from the traffic control center.
Due to the accident site being passable only in one lane, a traffic jam formed. Congestion is already present from the Hamburg-Southwest triangle. The Federal Highway Authority announced in the evening that the cleanup is expected to take at least until 8:40 PM.
The traffic jam due to the accident further led to a traffic obstruction on the A7. Announcing the recovery process to be lengthy, the obstructed lane is likely to cause significant traffic obstruction until the evening.
