- The Berlin Pyronale fireworks spectacle commences anew.
Following a year-long break, international fireworks masters are all set to compete for the most spectacular pyrotechnic show at the Pyronale festival on the Maifeld at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. This event, scheduled for the 30th and 31st of August (Friday and Saturday), is predicted to draw in countless spectators.
This 16th iteration features six teams of "elite international fireworks artists" hailing from Finland, Canada, the Netherlands, Romania, Poland, and the UK.
Their exhibits will be scored by a panel of judges comprising professionals, artists, and celebrities, including, for the first time this year, renowned TV chef Sarah Wiener (62).
Each team will exhibit a three-segment show on both days, commencing roughly at 9 PM. They will commence with a fireworks display incorporating a specific color scheme (this year: purple-green), then synchronize their display to prerecorded music, and finally, perform to a selection of their preferred classical music pieces. The event will utilize around six metric tons of materials.
Berlin's Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) is anticipated to attend the opening ceremony on Friday evening. Wegner also serves as the event's patron. Tickets begin at 29 euros.
Regrettably, the Pyronale was postponed last year due to maintenance work at the venue. The last fireworks display took place in 2022, despite the dry spell.
During their free time between the performances, the international fireworks artists might explore Berlin's rich cultural offerings. Having secured their free time after the intense competition, they can enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife.
