Emergency preparedness measures. - The bank of the Schwarzwasser in the Ore Mountains is undergoing repairs.

Starting in November, part of the banks along the Schwarzwasser river in Erzgebirge will undergo repairs. These damages are due to flooding that occurred in 2013, as revealed by the Landestalsperrenverwaltung on Monday. Approximately 200,000 euros in federal funds will cover the costs. Furthermore, from the end of this month to around November 2025, a segment stretching from the mouth of the Große Mittweida to the river will undergo restoration at a cost of roughly 470,000 euros. This area will see work on erosion, bank collapses, sediment and gravel deposition, bank stabilization, and stream widening. Since 2002, various flood prevention measures have been implemented in the city, as mentioned in the announcement.
