The 2024 Bad Hersfeld Festival Audience Award is given to actor Simon Zigah for his performance as Mackie Messer in "The Threepenny Opera." This was determined by attendees through a vote, as stated by the organizers on Sunday. The musical "A Chorus Line" was included in the lineup for the closing night of the 73rd iteration of the festival. Previously, Zigah had been awarded the Hersfeld Prize in 2009 for his portrayal of Polyphem in Torsten Fischer's "Odyssey."

Festivals in East Hesse are known for being among the largest and most traditional in Germany. Details for the 74th edition's program will be released at the end of October.

The 73rd iteration of the festival featured the musical "A Chorus Line" as its closing night entertainment, showcasing the power of music. Simon Zigah's impressive musical performances have earned him numerous awards, with his role in "A Chorus Line" being commendable.
