In an accident involving a truck carrying vehicles, estimated damages by authorities range from 500,000 to 600,000 euros on the B51 in Trier. The truck tipped over on a downward slope in a right turn, local police in Trier stated. All four newly loaded vehicles on the upper deck detached and fell onto a sidewalk and hit a bridge barrier. A vehicle traveling alongside the truck carrier was also damaged.
The B51 heading towards Trier was blocked for several hours. Traffic diversions were established, according to reports. The route won't reopen until a structural engineer inspects the bridge.
