Party - The association of the Sahra Wagenknecht: NRW becomes the largest national association

The "Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance" (BSW) will establish a state association in North Rhine-Westphalia on September 7th, with over 100 members. This was announced by the deputy party chairman, Amid Rabieh, in response to a dpa inquiry. According to Rabieh, NRW is set to become the largest state association of the new party.

Rabieh was entrusted with the establishment of the party structures in NRW. According to his statements, there will be a dual leadership and an eleven-member board. The establishment will take place in Bochum.

Sahra Wagenknecht, the namesake of BSW, had previously run for the Bundestag in NRW for her former party, The Left. "It's no secret that our party chairwoman, Dr. Sahra Wagenknecht, and our general secretary, Christian Leye, will continue to focus their political activities here in NRW," said Rabieh. The BSW is already "well-established locally with numerous council factions and district representatives" and has "nearly 5,000 supporters and patrons," added the deputy party leader.

The switch of the former Mayor of Düsseldorf, Thomas Geisel, from the SPD to the Wagenknecht party caused a stir in NRW. Geisel recently entered the European Parliament for the BSW.

In line with Rabieh's assignment, the party structures in NRW will be led by a dual leadership and an eleven-member board, with Sahra Wagenknecht continuing her political endeavors in this region as the well-established BSW has numerous council factions and district representatives, and a substantial supporter base in North Rhine-Westphalia.

In addition to her political activities in NRW, Sahra Wagon servant, whose name is the origin of the "Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance" (BSW), had earlier contested elections for the Bundestag in this state for her previous party, The Left.
