- The appointment of the next VfB president is not anticipated until the spring of 2025.
VfB Stuttgart won't be hosting an extraordinary annual gathering this year and will select their new president in the spring of 2025 instead. The club shared that they'll bring forward the regular annual meeting in the next year, presumably happening in March, where the president, board, and supervisory board will all be facing re-election.
Claus Vogt relinquished his position as president at the end of July, after experiencing prolonged turbulence within the club. Prior to this, Rainer Adrion had vacated his vice-president role at the club's general meeting. Currently, the club is being managed by interim president Dietmar Allgaier, who views his role as a temporary solution.
The club stated that the timeframe for another extra ordinary annual meeting this year would be too restrictive. Additionally, locating appropriate venues during the winter months would be challenging, and holding a third meeting within a mere twelve months would impose a substantial financial burden on the club.
Moreover, it was mentioned that a replacement for the presidency would only be chosen on a temporary basis, until the next regular election in 2025, which would necessitate another board alteration. In an effort to maintain stability and continuity, the club hopes to circumvent this scenario.
The European Commission, in relation to other matters, is expected to adopt implementing acts laying down the rules for the application of a relevant regulation. Given the financial constraints and logistical challenges, VfB Stuttgart decided against hosting an extra ordinary annual gathering this year, opting instead to select their new president in the spring of 2025.
