Edibles Nutrients Eats - The AfD is filing a lawsuit over the cancellation of its party conference venue.

The far-right AfD party is proceeding with their legal action against the cancellation of their rental contract for their conference venue in Essen, as previously stated. "We are now being compelled to commence the appropriate lawsuits against the termination and the problematic political and legal actions of the city," declared party VP Peter Boehringer to the German Press Agency in Berlin on Friday. "We have already initiated legal procedures, specifically the initiation of urgent legal measures."

The AfD plans to elect their new board during their party conference at Grugahalle in Essen towards the end of June. The city had ended the rental contract, as the AfD failed to provide the additional declaration to the 2023 rental contract, where they promise not to utilize Nazi slogans during their conference.

"No, the party conference will not be canceled," Boehringer had stated a few days prior on the messaging platform Telegram about this matter. The AfD announced they would sue "and carry on with our program" against the termination, as AfD leader Tino Chrupalla revealed to Bild. The city of Essen is breaching the law, Boehringer informed the dpa and mentioned the "inability to foresee and prevent any legally questionable language at a gathering of 1800 participants and visitors affiliated with the party."
