Local governments - The AfD also secures victories in local elections in the region of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The left party, once boasting 16.3% in the local elections five years ago, saw a drastic decline to 8.8%. The SPD also found itself facing a loss, dropping from 15.4% to 12.7%. The Wagenknecht Party (BSW) managed to snag 6.1%, despite only fielding candidates in three out of the six districts and in Rostock. The Green Party's results were severely affected, shrinking from 10.3% to 5.5%. The FDP narrowly edged out the Free Voters, securing 2.8% compared to 1.8%. The voter turnout was markedly higher, with 64.4% participating compared to 57.2% in the previous election.
